# Workflow & agent

> Native tools to create, list, run, and delete workflows and agents, manage triggers, and list AI models

Toolkit slug: **`flowra`** (main Flowra toolkit).

These tools map to the [Workflows](/guides/workflows) and [Triggers](/guides/triggers) APIs. Rows are scoped by **`ownerEUID`** ([multi-tenancy](/guides/multi-tenancy)) — send **`x-username`** per end user.

For concepts (`workflowType: static` vs `agent`, when to use each, how runs differ), see **[Workflows and agents](/guides/workflows-and-agents)**. This page is the **native tool slug** reference only.

<Note>
  Native tools are what agents call by slug. For REST CRUD and execute, use the [Workflows](/guides/workflows) guide and [API reference](/api-reference).
</Note>

## Which native tool to use?

| Goal | Tool |
| - | - |
| Fixed multi-step automation | `FLOWRA_CREATE_OR_UPDATE_WORKFLOW` |
| Chat / AI picks tools | `FLOWRA_CREATE_OR_UPDATE_AGENT` |
| Run on schedule or webhook | `FLOWRA_MANAGE_TRIGGER` → link `triggerId` in create |
| Test a static flow | `FLOWRA_EXECUTE_WORKFLOW` |
| Chat with an agent | [Threads](/guides/threads) / Graphify — not `EXECUTE_WORKFLOW` |
| Pause for approval | `human_wait` node on static graphs — [Human in the loop](/guides/human-in-the-loop) |

## Tools reference

| Slug | Name | `workflowType` | What it does |
| - | - | - | - |
| `FLOWRA_CREATE_OR_UPDATE_WORKFLOW` | Create or Update Workflow | Sets **`static`** | LangGraph-style graph: `action`, `code`, `llm_agent`, `start`, `end`, `human_wait` nodes. |
| `FLOWRA_CREATE_OR_UPDATE_AGENT` | Create or Update Agent | Sets **`agent`** | Top-level conversational agent (prompt, model, tools). |
| `FLOWRA_GET_WORKFLOW_OR_AGENT_BY_ID` | Get Workflow or Agent By ID | Both | Full detail; response shape depends on type. |
| `FLOWRA_LIST_WORKFLOWS` | List Workflows | Both | Filter with `workflowType: static` or `agent`. |
| `FLOWRA_DELETE_WORKFLOW` | Delete Workflow | Both | Soft-delete (confirmation step; restricted via MCP in some cases). |
| `FLOWRA_MANAGE_TRIGGER` | Manage Trigger | N/A (trigger instance) | Register / enable / disable / delete `trigger_tool` instances. |
| `FLOWRA_EXECUTE_WORKFLOW` | Execute Workflow | **`static` only** | Test (`testMode: true`, mocked tools) or production run. Fails if ID is an agent. |
| `FLOWRA_LIST_AI_MODELS` | List AI Models | N/A | Models for `modelSettings` when creating agents or `llm_agent` nodes. |

### Triggers via `MANAGE_TRIGGER`

| Action | When |
| - | - |
| `register` | Create or update instance — needs `toolSlug`, `workspaceId`, `triggerToolInput` |
| `enable` / `disable` | Pause or resume — needs `triggerId` |
| `delete` | Remove instance — needs `triggerId` |

Link the instance: `trigger: { kind: "trigger_tool", toolSlug, triggerToolInput, triggerId }`.
