# File

> Read, edit, convert, export, and upload files in your project

Toolkit slug: **`flowra_file`**.

Project-scoped file operations. Use with the [Files](/guides/files) API for uploads from your app.

| Slug | Name | What it does |
| - | - | - |
| `FLOWRA_READ_FILE` | Read file | Read content (Excel, CSV, PDF, text, etc.) or search inside a file. |
| `FLOWRA_EDIT_FILE` | Edit file | Overwrite a text file (txt, md, csv, json, etc.). |
| `FLOWRA_CONVERT_FILE` | Convert file | Convert between formats (image, media, document, text). |
| `FLOWRA_FILE_EXPORT` | File export | Export data as a file or shareable link. |
| `FLOWRA_UPLOAD_INLINE` | Upload inline | Save inline text or base64 as a project file; returns `fileId` and URL. |

## Files API vs native tools

* Use the [Files](/guides/files) REST/SDK surface (`files.upload`, `files.list`) when your **backend** uploads or downloads blobs.
* Use these native tools when an **agent** should read, edit, convert, or export files during a run.
